JJ Steel-Guitar Lube – Lubricant for pedal steel guitars

The special oil for lubricating a pedal steel guitar was developed in extensive test series in collaboration with Johan Jansen in a test laboratory of a German lubricant manufacturer.

The musician Johan Jansen, like many pedal steel guitarists, had the problem that the "insider tips" from sewing machine oil to gear oil did not produce any satisfactory results. Either the lubricating performance was not enough or too much dust was attracted or the oil effects the materials of the musical instruments or even the skin of the musicians. However, none of the oils could withstand the pressure of the strings on the rollers and changers so that the lubrication was stable long enough. All these requirements are met by the Alex lubricant for pedal steel guitars - the JJ Steel-Guitar Lube. JJ Steel-Guitar Lube is based on a lubricant with added PTFE. The oil creeps slowly with the PTFE particles into the finest bottlenecks and lubricates them reliably and lastingly.

Use of JJSteelguitarLube

1. Roller lubrication
   Loosen the strings and apply a drop of oil on the axe of the rollers with the precision oiler. The rollers must be able to rotate without any resistance.
2. Changer lubrication
   Apply a drop of oil between the changer fingers. JJSteel-Guitar-Lube finds its way to the axes by itself. The bottom side of the changer, where the fingers meet, can also be lubricated. Don’t overdo to prevent dripping.
3. Lubrication of all other moving parts

   Proceed with:

   • Brackets of the kneelevers
   • Floor pedals
   • Springs
   • Bellcranks
   • Pedalcranks
   • Threaded of the legs
